​Nancy has over 20 years of experience as a counsellor and mediator with a broad range of specialized training supporting individuals and families. 

Nancy is committed to client-centered practice. She believes the therapeutic relationship represents a foundation for growth and helps to build on the client’s inherent strengths and capacities. This relationship is central in the process of exploring possibilities for change.

In her work as a counsellor, Nancy draws on the principles of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and solution focused therapy. When working with children, Nancy also includes the expressive arts.

Nancy has specialized training in substance use, mood, anxiety disorders, adolescent counselling, childhood stress, trauma, and maladaptive behaviours.

In her work as a mediator, Nancy takes an impartial role and is skilled in helping parties identify underlying causes of conflict and in helping parties reach resolution. Nancy’s specialized training in mediation includes parent-teen mediation and parenting after separation mediation.

In her work as a Parenting Coordinator, Nancy  uses a broad range of specialized skills in supporting families including mediation and arbitration. Nancy is committed to family practice with a focus on the best interest of the child.

Nancy is a registered with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), certified with Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), a member of the B.C Play Therapy Association, a member of Moderation Management Therapists Association, a member of Family Mediation Canada, certified with the BC Parenting Coordinators Roster Society, and certified with BC Hear the Child Society.  She is also a qualified Crime Victim’s Assistance Therapist and a recognized ICBC and First Nations Health Authority Therapist.
